2023 Ermes Pavese, Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle

Ermes Pavese is a small grower working some of the highest elevation vineyards in all of Europe perched in the Alps in Italy's Valle d'Aosta. He works only with the local grape variety Prié Blanc, planted in sandy glacial soils from which he makes this delicious alpine white. The nose here is subtle, with apple, pear & bright lemon notes that emerge from the glass. The palate shows the same restrained fruit, with a hint of honey balanced by bitter almond, and finishes bracingly dry, with a cleansing mineral backbone. Crushable white that is crowd pleasing.
