The 2018 Cappellano Barbera d'Alba Gabutti originates from 100% Barbera grapes grown in the esteemed Gabutti cru, a revered vineyard site on Serralunga d'Alba's western slopes at approximately 300 meters altitude in Piedmont.  Proprietor Augusto Cappellano, a fifth-generation traditionalist, meticulously adheres to organic farming and a "Vini Veri" philosophy, employing indigenous yeast fermentation and extended aging in large, neutral oak botti with minimal intervention.The 2018 vintage, marked by a notably late harvest on October 3rd, yielded a wine of striking purity of fruit and vibrant acidity, resulting in remarkable finesse and a captivating mid-weight structure.  This Barbera is crafted with the same reverence as Cappellano's iconic Barolos, revealing a depth and age-worthiness often likened to a "Barolo backbone".This exceptional offering beautifully expresses its prestigious terroir and the producer's steadfast commitment to authentic winemaking.
