Kerrie Tornabene's shot from the 2013 harvest at Domaine Tissot

We offered these wines last year and sold out quickly. However, we were able to secure another drop this month!  As a result, we are excited to offer you another shot at the landmark ’18 Chardonnay releases from Stéphane Tissot, the best we’ve encountered from this extraordinary producer. For the first time in many years, Jura growers were graced not only with generous yields but also impeccable quality fruit with the 2018 vintage. Tissot’s vines on ancient Jurassian and Triassian soils yield wines that balance intensity and drive with loads of character in a way few others can. This is ouillé (non-oxidative) Jura Chardonnay at its finest!

Stéphane Tissot has been the driving force behind Domaine Tissot ever since he returned to the family property in the late 1990’s, rapidly converting to biodynamic farming (now Demeter certified) and improving the work being done in the cellar. Those that have met him know he is a man of effusive passion and unmatched energy. Over the past 20 years he has developed a reputation as one of the most talented growers and producers in the region with his ever-expanding roster of wines and is truly one of the region’s greatest ambassadors. Tissot’s Chardonnay wines go toe to toe with the great Burgundy whites and show how special the Jura can be at a fraction of the price. If you missed your chance last year to grab these ‘18s or would like to add to your existing stocks, please act quickly while supplies last. Don’t miss it!

We are pumped to offer these wines and encourage you to move quickly if interested. They are hard to resist now but will improve markedly in the cellar over the next 5-10+ years. The wines below are offered on a first come, first served basis. Follow the links below to purchase directly from our site or call/email us if you need some assistance.

Cheers,

THE WINES

Domaine Bénédicte & Stephane Tissot- Arbois Chardonnay, Mailloche 2018
24 BOTTLES AVAILABLE
$72.00/ BOTTLE
Mailloche is an eastern-facing vineyard in Arbois planted on very compacted clay of the Lias period.  There’s concentration and power here to rival Clos de la Tour de Curon in this vintage, and it’s always recommended to taste Mailloche alongside Bruyéres as both planted on clay and both feature that unmistakable Jura nutty (not quite oxidative), spicy, almost doughy nose while still being fresh and citrusy! Wow wine! Decanting is encouraged, and these are the type of wines you could drink half, cork and drink the other half days later…the wine won’t skip a beat and reveal even more complexity without slightest bit of oxidation.  They are truly remarkable and singular.
Domaine BéNédicte & Stéphane Tissot - Arbois Chardonnay, Graviers 2018
24 BOTTLES AVILABLE
$66.00/BOTTLE
From several parcels of Chardonnay grown on rocky, limestone soils. The wine is lively, expressive, and highly mineral, definitely reflective of its rocky origins. There's plenty of citrus character and salivating acidity that will have you quickly reaching for another glass. These plots are more typical of Burgundian soils and the wine acts that way on the palate with a more linear style and extra dose of minerality.
