Domestic & International Shipping:
For those without experience, shipping wine can be complicated, more expensive than it needs to be, and dangerous. There are many important factors that have to be considered when moving wine, including proper packaging, temperature control, transit insurance, taxes, and state shipping regulations. As enthusiasts ourselves, we know first-hand how a simple mistake by the originator can result in disaster and how the per-case shipping fees can get expensive without the proper relationships in place.
MWC’s logistics specialists have decades of experience originating domestic and international shipments of all types at competitive rates no matter the mode. MWC is a certified wine shipper with FedEx and UPS and maintains numerous long term relationships with trustworthy less-than-truckload temperature controlled carriers that can assist our clients in delivering wine throughout the entire United States. We also have considerable experience working with importers/exporters to import and export wines around the globe.
Cross Country Consolidations:
As avid wine enthusiasts, we fully appreciate that sometimes you have to source wine from far-away places and safely transporting all of your purchases to their final destination can be a bit of a hassle and, not-to-mention, expensive. For these reasons, we offer a temperature-controlled consolidation program. For clients on the east coast, we originate shipments whereby we arrange to have our clients purchases on the west coast consolidated at a central facility, palletized along with the wine of many other MWC clients and then transported across the country via a trusted less-than-truckload carrier directly to our storage facility in New Jersey for final “last mile” delivery by MWC. Our “west-coast consol” rates represent a fraction of the cost required to ship your wine via any of the expedited services offered by the leading common-carriers (FedEx, UPS, etc) and the majority of the trip being temperature-controlled from our consolidation point all the way to our facility in NJ.
Cellar Relocations:
Moving is never fun and for those with considerable wine collections stored in their home, the experience can be painful. Due to the values typically associated with serious wine collections and the need for temperature controlled transport, most moving companies prefer not to move your wines along with the rest of your household goods. If you are moving or being relocated by your employer and need to relocate your entire wine cellar in one temperature-controlled shipment, we can help you or your moving company. MWC has assisted clients in moving their collections all over the United States, including to Hawaii. Clients engaging MWC to handle their cellar relocations can expect white-glove service from MWC’s professionals throughout all phases of the job--from “packing to racking.”
Independent Condition Evaluation & Appraisals:
Since 2006, MWC has assisted numerous clients and insurance carriers in appraising and evaluating wine collections that have been damaged by unfortunate circumstances. MWC’s trained professionals are experienced in completing detailed on-site bottle condition evaluations and appraisals to ensure fast and accurate loss recovery.
