Henriet-Bazin is a small grower producer located on the eastern edge of the Montagne de Reims, in the village of Villers-Marmery. Villers-Marmery is largely east-facing vineyard with a pure, crushed chalk topsoil that is planted almost exclusively to Chardonnay. Cuvée Marie-Amelie is Henriet-Bazin’s Tête de Cuvée (finest wine), a single vineyard Blanc de Blancs drawn from organically farmed vines planted in 1966. Aged for 6 years sur lattes and bottled without dosage, the wine beautifully captures the chalky nature of the terroir and is a Blanc de Blancs with broad appeal. Mineral and focused with bushels of fresh orchard fruit, the wine is succulent and dry on the palate with just a whisper of brioche on the finish.
