Giuseppe Sesti was already an accomplished astronomy author and avid opera lover before finally deciding to purchase his own vineyards around the hamlet of Argiano in the early 1990’s. His impetus for having the best raw material prompted him to make natural wine from the get-go, though he has always shunned any official certification. Sesti’s Rosso di Montalcino is a wonderfully serious bottle of wine at the price sporting more depth and structure than their juicy Monteleccio and more freshness than the Brunello. It has the bones to age for 5-10 years if you were so inclined, but it is so inviting right out of the gate that we’ve never managed to hold a bottle for that long! Fermented in Steel and aged 18 months in 30 HL botti.
