Daniel Bouland may not be a name you recognize immediately but don't let that deter you from grabbing a bottle. In fact, increasingly, Bouland is the name you hear when wine nerds and sommeliers alike talk about their favorite Beaujolais producer. These are old school iterations that hearken back to a time when a winemaker would spend just as much time (or even more) in the vineyards as in the cellar. Bouland's methods are honest and humble with no bells or whistles, which is to say they are fiercely true to their terroir. 'Bellevue' is a lieu-dit of Morgon, and this bottling utilizes some of the younger vines that are planted on the sandier soils. Approachable for earlier drinking but like many of Bouland's wines, patience will be rewarded. For food pairing, think rabbit and/or poultry.
