Enderle & Moll is a partnership between Florian Moll and Sven Enderle that has built a reputation as one of the greatest producers of Pinot Noir in Germany. While the reds are indeed head turning, the orange wines are well worth your attention. The Weiss and Grau is comprised of Pinot Blanc (Weissburgunder) and Pinot Gris (Grauburgunder) fermented on the skins for anywhere from 4 days to 2 weeks in a 1000-liter barrel, depending on vintage, where it ages for the better part of a year. Above all, it is a supremely balanced, silky orange wine with plenty of clean fruit loaded with spice. Medium-bodied with crisp acidity and very faint tannin, this is a great introduction to macerated whites. The farming is organic and biodynamic without certification and they use no additives save for minimal additions of sulfur in the winery.
