2022 Chablis is an exciting vintage that’s chock full of pleasure and mineral character. Roland Lavantureux is a smaller producer in the Kermit Lynch portfolio that has been selling fine Chablis to Kermit for over 35 years, crafting a modest 5800 cases annually. Vaudesir is Lavantureux’s Grand Cru, from 40 year old vines. As winemaker Arnaud Lavantureux is aiming for a more ‘Côte de Beaune’ style of wine (that is to say, aiming for a combination of greater flesh on the attack with saline tension on the finish), around 10% of this Grand Cru terroir’s wine ages in new oak, 50-60% in 3-5 year old barrels, and the remainder in stainless steel.
